Is there a nationwide resurgence? Galveston Mardi Gras theme was patriotism, with Texas National Guards doing some of the crowd control in camo, and with armed forces leading all the parades [including the pet parade today]. Then we have the national anthem at the Super Bowl. Sung by choirs from the various academys, and a Blue Angels flyover. There were more flags everywhere after 9/11, but this seems different, maybe more concrete and specific. Or maybe it's just because I'm in Texas. Yes, the game is on in the background. No, I don't really care. I'm probably going to head out to a bar, try to be sociable, and watch the game. Touchdown. Don't know who.
